DIVIDALEN

This pure and protected wilderness will leave you breathless!

Discover Øvre Dividal National Park, protected since 1971. Spanning 770 km² the area has old-growth forests, alpine mountains, and marshes to explore. Its lakes are rich with fish, and the area holds significant cultural value with its ancient Sami cultural landscape.

Day 1 - Time to learn

We start the day by going out to greet the dogs, after a briefing on safety and dog sledding we will take you out on a short trip.

In the evening we all have dinner at our place, planning the trip and getting things sorted out. You will learn the basics of winter camping and how to take care of yourself in the cold.

Day 2 - We get going

First thing in the morning we give the dogs their breakfast. After we have all eaten we head out to load the car and head off to the wilderness. After about one hour drive we arrive at the starting point and get ready to begin the adventure. After a shorter leg (3-4 hours) we will spend the night in a cosy cabin or a tent.

Day 3-4

We have now officially begun the adventure and wake up in the beautiful Øvre Dividal National Park. Depending on the weather and conditions we will be traveling 20km-60km (3-6 hours) each day through beautiful landscapes. You will experience the beautiful northern Norway in a completely unique way together with the dogs. We have lunch on the trail and spend the nights in the mountains either in a cabin or in tents, now is the time to truly relax and enjoy the interaction with the dogs and nature.

In the afternoon on day 4, we head back to the car, and home for a nice dinner and a warm shower.

Day 5 - It is time to say good bye

We have breakfast together before we go out and say goodbye to your new furry best friends.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

We need a full day of learning before we are ready to start our adventure. You must arrive no later than 10 am at our place (approx. 2 hours from Tromsø, 15 min from Bardufoss). We can provide transportation from Bardufoss if needed. See "Practical information" for information about getting here. It is also possible to arrive in the afternoon the day before (800 NOK per person). Let us know when you make your reservation.

If possible try not to have a tight schedual on your final day (day 5). The weather in the mountain can sometimes be unpredictable so we might be getting home quite late on day 4.
